The holidays are upon us. It's a season filled with countless giving opportunities. At CHG, part of our Putting People First culture is to help others and give back to our communities. Here are some of the many ways that our CHG offices donated time, money and services to those in need this season.

1. CHG partnered with United Way of Salt Lake to support more than 600 refugee families in need. Employees selected ornaments from holiday trees, then purchased the items listed for the Utah Refugee Center.

2. Our CompHealth permanent placement office in Norwalk, Conn., partnered with their local Salvation Army to organize an Angel Tree. The office donated more than 40 gifts to help make young children's Christmas wishes come true.

3. Our CompHealth locum tenens division in Salt Lake City identified 18 local families who are struggling. They placed gift tags on the Angel Tree, based on what the kids want, need, wear and read. The team donated every item listed, totaling 300 gifts. They also used their Volunteer Time Off to wrap and deliver the gifts.

4. Weatherby Healthcare in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., partnered with Edible Extras Food Pantry to host a food drive. Edible Extras collects perfectly good food that otherwise would be thrown away from grocery stores, fast-food chains and restaurants. Those goods, along with our donation, will be distributed to 17 different organizations throughout Florida's Broward County.

5. CHG's project management and creative teams volunteered at Ronald McDonald House in Salt Lake City. In addition to buying, preparing and serving food to the families, the team also donated 30 copies of Rhino Trouble, a children's book authored by CHG's Grant Olsen. After lunch, he read the book to the kids and signed copies for them.

6. Our CompHealth allied team in Grand Rapids, Mich., helped a family from Safe Haven, a shelter for abused women and children. The team purchased items that the family needed to leave the shelter and start fresh.

7. Our RNnetwork office in Boca Raton, Fla., hosted two groups of kids from Florence Fuller, a nonprofit that provides child care and education for underprivileged kids. The office donated gifts and held a holiday party — complete with Santa — for the kids to enjoy.

8. Foundation Medical Staffing in Edmond, Okla., adopted a local family in need. The team bought the kids winter coats, books, gifts and other goodies. The gesture helped the family get back on their feet.

9. Team members in CompHealth allied staffing office in Salt Lake City contributed to four different charitable causes this year. The team helped The Inn Between, a hospice house for homeless Utahans who are terminally ill, by donating and delivering two carloads of items from their wish list.

The team also raised $800 to help the Boys and Girls Club of Midvale, an after-school program that gives underprivileged or high-risk kids a safe place to learn and grow.

In addition, nearly the entire team came together to craft and deliver 50 tinsel tree decorations for kids who are hospitalized at Primary Children's Hospital over the holidays.

Last, but certainly not least, the office filled a cubicle with food, blankets, toys, collars and several other necessary items to donate to Rescue Rovers, a foster-based animal rescue that saves dogs from owner surrender and abandonment.

10. Team members from our Weatherby office in Durham, N.C., adopted a family through Wake County Holiday Cheer. The team bought toys, games and clothes for the kids and used VTO to deliver the gifts.

11. CHG's marketing team in Salt Lake City conducted a food drive, raising 954 non-perishable items for Utah Food Bank.

12. The leadership team in Grand Rapids helped sort food at Feeding America. Each year, Feeding America work with food pantries, soup kitchens and homeless shelters to serve an estimated 492,100 people in 40 counties in Michigan.
