4 ways we gave back this holiday season

Putting People First is the foundation of our culture and business, so it’s not surprising that our people are passionate about giving back to each other, our customers, and our community.

Our people’s generosity was notably on display this holiday season. Here are four ways they made a difference.

1. Collecting toys for underprivileged kids

Partnering with the Suits, Stilettos, and Lipstick foundation — an organization committed to empowering women and children to live a healthy, happy, balanced and purposeful life — team members in our Weatherby Healthcare Fort Lauderdale office collected toys for the Boys and Girls Club of Broward County.

And our RNnetwork division in Boca Raton donated presents to Achievement Centers for Children & Families in Delray Beach.

2. Feeding the hungry

One of our CompHealth Fort Lauderdale teams used their company-paid volunteer time off (VTO) to give back to Feeding South Florida — a food bank serving 25% of the state’s food insecure population. The group put together enough meal boxes to help 1,046 people in the community.

Kevin Wehmeyer, a sales manager in our Fort Lauderdale office, and his daughter, Harper, volunteered at the Boca Resort. This organization partners with Boca Helping Hands to feed the homeless. The father-daughter duo prepared a Thanksgiving meal for those in need. It’s important to Kevin and his wife that Harper has opportunities to give back so she understands the value of generosity and compassion throughout her life.

And our digital and IT teams in Utah donated 118 pounds of food to a local elementary school’s Principal’s Pantry. This program helps to alleviate childhood hunger by providing food to children who need a little extra support.

3. Donating trees to benefit sick children

Two teams in our Utah headquarters donated decorated Christmas trees to Intermountain Healthcare’s annual Festival of Trees, a fundraiser benefitting Primary Children’s Hospital. The first team donated a Polar Express-themed tree, which raised $8,500.

Team members from our CompHealth division donated an ELF movie-themed tree, raising $6,000.

4. Taking care of families in our community

Our culture team in Utah used their VTO hours to hand out Christmas gifts to kids with the Salvation Army.

And multiple teams in our Utah headquarters banded together to collect items for underprivileged families at the Road Home — an organization helping homeless families in the community. The group donated a mountain of items, including diapers, coats, socks, and winter clothes.
