Putting People First doesn’t just mean taking care of our employees, it also means taking care of our communities. One way we make a difference in our community is by participating in United Way’s annual Day of Caring, which brings together thousands of volunteers from corporate and community groups to accomplish various service projects all over the valley.
This year, nearly 40 of our people volunteered at Copperview Elementary School, reading to kids in the classroom, cleaning up the school grounds, harvesting the school’s garden, and building a Buddy Bench that CHG donated to the school.
“The Buddy Bench is something that schools are implementing for kids who need someone to talk to or don’t have any friends to play with,” says DiVina Mauchley, senior culture specialist at CHG Healthcare. “If kids see someone on the bench, they can go over and invite them to play. Little things like this make a big difference, and we’re happy to have a chance to help out.”
